Vipps casinos
How deposits and withdrawals with Vipps work at online casinos, what they cost, and which casinos in our database accept it.
Short answer
Vipps is Norway's dominant mobile payment app, used by a large majority of the adult population for transfers between friends, online shopping and payments in shops. It is now run by Vipps MobilePay, a company based in Oslo and owned mainly by Norwegian banks together with Danske Bank.
How Vipps works at casinos
In gambling, Vipps sits inside one of Europe's strictest frameworks. Norway reserves most gambling for the state-owned Norsk Tipping and Norsk Rikstoto, and Norwegian law requires banks and payment providers to block payments to and from operators without a Norwegian permit. The national gaming authority can order specific transactions to be stopped, and since recent legal changes it can also order DNS blocking of unlicensed sites. In practice, Norwegian players will mostly find Vipps with the licensed domestic providers, not at international casinos. Payments are confirmed instantly in the app.

| Casino policy | Norway keeps a state monopoly (Norsk Tipping, plus Norsk Rikstoto for horse racing). Norwegian law has banned payments to and from unlicensed gambling operators since 2010–2011, and the Norwegian Gaming Authority can order banks and payment providers to reject specific transactions. A 2024 amendment also allows DNS blocking of unlicensed sites. Vipps is therefore relevant mainly to the licensed Norwegian offering. |
| Verification | Requires a Norwegian bank account and BankID-based onboarding. |
