Casino payment methods
Cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, vouchers and crypto: speeds, fees and what casinos require before they pay out.
Short answer
The fastest way to get money out of a casino is usually an e-wallet or instant bank transfer once your identity is verified. Cards and classic bank transfers take longer, and vouchers like Paysafecard work for deposits only.
The list below groups the payment methods in our database by type: mobile payments, e-wallets, cards, bank transfers, crypto, prepaid vouchers and instant banking. For each method we show the typical withdrawal time once the casino has approved the payout, and “n/a” where the method cannot receive withdrawals at all.
Look at the withdrawal line first. Almost every method deposits instantly, so the real differences appear when you want your money back. The times are typical ranges from payment providers and casino terms, not guarantees; each casino review shows that casino’s own stated processing time.

How casino payment methods differ
Casino payment methods differ mainly in three ways: how fast they pay out, whether they can receive withdrawals at all, and how much checking the casino does before money leaves your account.
E-wallets and instant bank payments are usually the quickest way out. SEPA Instant transfers, for example, reach the payee in under ten seconds, around the clock, according to the European Payments Council. Card payouts and classic bank transfers take longer. Prepaid vouchers work in one direction: a paysafecard code pays for a deposit, and only a registered paysafecard account can receive merchant payouts. Crypto withdrawals depend on the network; Bitcoin adds a new block about every ten minutes on average, and a confirmed transaction cannot be reversed, as bitcoin.org explains.
Deposit speed versus withdrawal speed
A casino withdrawal has two stages: the casino’s own processing, often shown as “pending”, and the transfer by the payment provider. The times in the list cover only the second stage.
The first stage is where most delays happen, so compare the stated processing time on each casino review as well, or start with the fast withdrawal casinos. In Great Britain, the Gambling Commission has banned reverse withdrawals since 31 October 2021, so players there can no longer be offered the option to cancel a payout request and gamble the money instead. Our guide to pending withdrawals explains what to do when a payout stalls.
The closed-loop rule and identity checks
Most licensed casinos pay withdrawals back to the method you used to deposit, as far as that method allows, and verify your identity before the first payout. Both rules come from anti-money-laundering duties, not from casino preference.
The UK Gambling Commission lists the lack of a closed-loop system as a high money-laundering risk for online casinos. In practice, if you deposit with a voucher or a card that cannot receive payouts, the casino will ask for a bank account in your name. Identity checks (KYC) usually mean a photo ID, proof of address and sometimes proof of the payment method or source of funds. In Great Britain, operators have had to verify age and identity before a customer can gamble since 7 May 2019. Our KYC guide lists what is normally accepted.
Fees, limits and card rules
Read the cashier terms before you deposit: fees from the casino, the provider or currency conversion, minimum withdrawals and monthly limits vary more than the method itself.
In Great Britain, gambling businesses may not accept credit card payments since 14 April 2020, and e-wallet deposits must not be funded from a credit card. Our guide to withdrawal methods compares the main options in more detail. Whatever method you choose, a deposit limit set in your account before you play is the simplest way to keep spending under control.
Frequently asked questions
What is the fastest casino withdrawal method?
E-wallets and instant bank payments are usually the fastest once the casino has approved the payout, often within the same day. The bigger factor is the casino’s own processing time and whether your account is already verified, so check both.
Can I withdraw casino winnings to paysafecard?
Not with a voucher code alone. Paysafecard codes are for payments; payouts from merchants need a registered paysafecard account, and only some casinos support that. Most casinos instead pay voucher depositors by bank transfer to an account in their own name, after the usual identity checks.
Why does a casino ask for ID before paying out?
Licensed casinos must verify who you are to prevent underage gambling, fraud and money laundering. Many regulators require this before you play; others allow checks at the first withdrawal. Expect a photo ID and proof of address, and sometimes proof that the card or account you used belongs to you.
Why do I have to withdraw to the same method I used to deposit?
This closed-loop policy makes it harder to move money through a casino account from one payment channel to another. Casinos return funds to the deposit method where it can receive payouts and use a bank transfer in your name where it cannot. Regulators treat open-loop payments as a money-laundering risk.
