Casino licence checker

Pick the regulator named in a casino footer and get the official register, how to search it and what a valid entry looks like.

This casino licence checker connects the regulator named in a casino’s footer with that regulator’s official register. Choose the authority from the list, open its register and search for the operating company or the casino’s domain. The table below the selector explains, regulator by regulator, how to search and what a valid entry shows, and it says so where no public register exists.

Before you search, note three details from the casino footer or terms: the company name, the regulator and the licence number.

How it works

Find the regulator and licence number in the casino footer, open that regulator's official register from the list below and search for the company or domain. A valid entry names the same company and lists the casino's domain; a seal image alone proves nothing.

RegulatorOfficial registerHow to check
Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli–Find the ADM concession number in the casino footer (it should also show the ADM logo) and check it against the list of online gaming concessionaires ('Elenco concessionari') on adm.gov.it. ADM also publishes the list of blocked, unauthorised gaming sites.
Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis / Alberta iGaming CorporationOpen registerSearch the AGLC 'Gaming Registrants' list, which can be filtered by the iGaming stream and the class 'iGaming - Operator'. The full register can also be inspected at the Commission's office in Alderney by appointment.
Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority (gaming licences)Open registerReportedly, licensees show a validator seal whose link should read 'VALID', and a register is published at anjouangaming.com. These are not government-hosted pages, and the government of the Comoros disputes the legitimacy of the licences, so a positive check carries limited weight.
Autorité de régulation des jeux de hasard et d'argent (Republic of the Congo)–No public register was found. Ask the operator for its ARJHA licence details and confirm them with the regulator.
Autorité de Régulation du Secteur des Jeux et Pratiques Assimilées (Guinea)Open registerThe ARSJPA site links to a page of approved platforms ('Plateformes agréées'), but it returned '403 Forbidden' during this research. A site relying only on a foreign licence (for example Curaçao or Malta) is not authorised in Guinea.
Belgian Gaming Commission (Kansspelcommissie / Commission des jeux de hasard)Open registerCheck the table of active A+ licences (online casino games) published by the Gaming Commission; only holders of one of the nine land-based casino A licences can hold an A+ licence. Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, Gaming DivisionOpen registerThe DCP knowledge base lists the only legal forms of online gaming: online casino through DraftKings or FanDuel, sports wagering through DraftKings, FanDuel or Bet Fanatics. A legal site is the partner of one of the master wagering licensees: the Mohegan Tribe, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe or the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. Individual licences can be checked with DCP's 'Verify a License' tool.
Curaçao Gaming AuthorityOpen registerSearch the operator in the CGA licence register (online gaming licences, certificates and an enforcement register), and click the digital stamp in the casino footer: green means an active B2C licence, blue an active B2B licence, grey suspended or withdrawn, black revoked. The CGA notes that its register overviews do not guarantee current validity, so treat the stamp and register together.
Delaware State Lottery (iGaming)Open registerThe Delaware Lottery's iGaming page links to the only legal online casino sites, run for the state's three casinos (Delaware Park, Bally's Dover and Harrington) on platforms powered by BetRivers: delawarepark.betrivers.com, ballycasino.betrivers.com and harrington.betrivers.com.

Federal Ministry of Finance of Austria (Bundesministerium für Finanzen), gambling concessions under the GSpGOpen registerThe BMF lists all concession holders on its page 'Konzessionäre und Ausspielbewilligte'. The only federal concession for lotteries including electronic lotteries (online gambling) is held by Österreichische Lotterien GmbH for win2day.at and video lottery terminal outlets, valid until 30 September 2027; Casinos Austria AG holds the land-based casino concessions. No other online casino holds an Austrian licence.

Separate registers show regulatory actions and public statements against licensees.
Gambling Regulatory Authority (Kenya)Open registerCheck the GRA 'Licensed operators' page (2025/26 list: 187 numbered companies with trading names and domains, per gamblingmaps). It reflects licences issued under the repealed Act whose validity was extended to 24 September 2026, so a missing name is a reason to ask the GRA, not proof. Licensees must show their licence number in advertising and on their platform.
Gambling Regulatory Authority (Mauritius)Open registerThe GRA 'Licencees' page describes the licence categories (casino, limited payout machines, bookmakers including remote communication, lottery and others). Online licence applications are handled through https://gralicensing.gra.mu/. The GRA states that the Interactive Gambling part of its Act is not in operation.

Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (Turismo de Portugal)Open registerCheck the SRIJ list of licensed online entities, which shows each brand, its website, the operating company, the game types it may offer and its licence numbers (with licence PDFs). How to use the casino licence checker

A casino licence check takes three steps: read the licence details, open the named regulator’s official register, and compare the entry with the website you are on.

  1. Find the licence statement. Licensed casinos usually name the operating company, its address, the regulator and a licence number in the footer or the terms and conditions.
  2. Select that regulator in the checker and open the register link. Where a regulator publishes no searchable register, the table explains what you can check instead.
  3. Search by company name, licence number or domain, whichever the register supports. The UK Gambling Commission’s register, for example, can be searched by business name, trading name, domain name or account number.

What a valid casino licence entry looks like

A valid entry names the same legal company that appears in the casino’s terms, shows an active status, covers online casino games and, where the register lists domains, includes the exact domain you are playing on.

The UK Gambling Commission advises players to check that the licence details, including activities and website domain names, match its public register. Its register shows a status of Active, Expired, Pending, Revoked or Suspended, so finding the company is not enough: the status must be active.

Fake seals and copied licence numbers

A regulator’s logo or seal on a casino website proves nothing on its own, because images and licence numbers can be copied. Only the regulator’s own register confirms a licence.

The Malta Gaming Authority published a notice on 16 July 2026 about websites impersonating MGA-licensed operators and told consumers to confirm in its Licensee Register that a provider is authorised before using it. Curaçao uses live seals instead of static logos: according to the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s portal documentation of 20 January 2026, green means an active B2C licence, blue an active B2B licence that does not allow player-facing gambling, grey a suspended or withdrawn licence and black a revoked one; the orange seal is no longer in use.

Warning signs include a seal that is not clickable or opens a page on the casino’s own domain, a licence number registered to another company, and a domain missing from the licensee’s entry. Casinos whose licence cannot be verified are listed on our casino blacklist.

White-label casinos and register names

A white-label casino is a brand run under another company’s licence, so the name in the register often differs from the brand name on the site. That is legitimate when the register lists the brand’s domain under the licence holder.

The UK Gambling Commission’s register gives each declared domain a status of Active, Inactive or White label. If a brand’s domain does not appear under the licensee at all, treat the licence claim as unverified. The terms should name the licensee as the company you contract with, which matters if you later need to file a complaint.

What a licence does and does not tell you

A verified licence tells you which authority supervises the casino and where you can escalate a dispute; it does not guarantee fair bonus terms or fast withdrawals. Our licence overview compares regulators, and the guide to checking a casino licence covers the process in more depth. A licence from one country also says nothing about legality where you live; check the legal status in your country before you play. Licensed casinos usually offer limits and self-exclusion; set them up before your first deposit.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if an online casino is licensed?

Open the official register of the regulator named in the casino footer and search for the company or domain. A genuine licence shows the same company, an active status, casino games among the licensed activities and, where domains are listed, the exact website you are using.

Can a casino licence be fake?

Yes. Logos, seals and licence numbers can be copied onto any website, and the Malta Gaming Authority, among others, has published notices about sites impersonating licensed operators. Only an entry in the regulator’s own register counts as proof, so never rely on a footer badge alone.

Why does the register show a different company name?

Many casino brands are run by a company with a different legal name, and white-label brands run under another firm’s licence. That is normal as long as the register lists the brand’s domain under that company. If the domain is missing, the licence claim is not verified for that site.

What should I do if a casino is not in the register?

Do not deposit. Check that you searched the right regulator and spelled the company or domain correctly, then try the licence number. If there is still no match, treat the casino as unlicensed: you would have no regulator to escalate a dispute to if a withdrawal is refused.
