What is crash game?

Definition and example from our casino glossary.

Definition

A crash game shows a multiplier rising from 1x until it randomly stops; you receive your stake times the multiplier only if you cash out before it stops.

In a crash game, each round starts at 1.00x and a multiplier climbs until a random crash point. Players bet before the round and choose when to cash out, either manually or with an automatic target. Cashing out at 2.00x doubles the stake; if the crash comes first, the stake is lost. The crash point is generated before the round begins, often with provably fair methods, so the timing of your click does not influence it. In most designs the RTP is the same whatever cash-out target you choose, so low and high targets differ in volatility, not in expected value. Rounds last seconds and repeat continuously, making crash games one of the fastest formats available. That speed, combined with seeing other players' cash-outs, makes it easy to lose track of time and spending, so fixed limits are especially useful here.
