What is minimum deposit?
Definition and example from our casino glossary.
Definition
The minimum deposit is the smallest amount a casino accepts in one payment, which may differ by payment method and for bonus eligibility.
Casinos set a lowest accepted deposit, often around 10 or 20 in the account currency, although some accept less. The figure frequently varies by payment method because processing fees differ, and a separate, higher minimum may apply to qualify for a bonus. Reading both matters: depositing 10 where the welcome offer requires 20 will typically earn no bonus, and most casinos will not add it later. Low minimums make it easier to test a site with limited exposure, which is a sensible way to check support and withdrawals before committing more. They can also encourage frequent small top-ups that add up unnoticed. Minimum withdrawal amounts are a separate rule and can be higher than the minimum deposit, so check both before your first payment to avoid ending up with a balance that cannot be withdrawn.
