GBB licensed casinos
What the Gaming Board for The Bahamas licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.
Short answer
The Gaming Board for The Bahamas is the licensing and supervisory authority for gambling in the country. It was first set up under a lotteries and gaming law and was continued under the Gaming Act, 2014, which brought the previously unregulated local gaming houses under formal oversight.
About the Gaming Board for The Bahamas
Residents may gamble only with licensed gaming house operators, often called web shops, which offer gaming through retail outlets and, according to available overviews, online and mobile accounts. The resort casinos are reserved for visitors, and citizens, permanent residents and work-permit holders may not gamble in them. The Board publishes a list of licence holders, covering casinos, gaming houses, suppliers and testing laboratories. A patron with a complaint about a licence holder can bring it to the Board. An officer first tries to reach an agreement between the two sides. If that fails, the officer investigates and issues a written preliminary decision, and a Board hearing follows if either party rejects it. Offshore sites without a Bahamian licence are not authorised.

| How to check a licence | Check the 'Licence Holder' page, which lists casinos, gaming houses (the operators allowed to offer gaming to residents), suppliers and testing laboratories, mostly with a website link. As fetched it listed 3 casinos and 7 gaming houses. |
| Complaints / ADR | Registered patrons can complain to the Board about a licence holder (https://www.gamingboardbahamas.com/patron-disputes-complaints/). A Board officer first tries to settle the dispute informally; if that fails, a full investigation leads to a preliminary determination with written reasons, which becomes final if both sides accept it, or goes to a Board hearing if either rejects it. No deadlines are published. |
| Player protection | A voluntary self-exclusion programme is reported but was not confirmed on the Board's responsible gaming page. Citizens, permanent residents and work-permit holders remain barred from the resort casinos. The Board warns that patron accounts with gaming house operators may be used only for authorised gaming. |
