What the National Revenue Agency (gambling supervision) licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.
Short answer
Bulgaria licenses online casinos, sports betting and poker under its Gambling Act. Since the former State Commission on Gambling was abolished, the National Revenue Agency has been responsible for licensing and supervising the sector.
About the National Revenue Agency (gambling supervision)
Only operators with a Bulgarian licence may offer online casino games to players in Bulgaria. The agency keeps a public register of licensed online gambling sites, and players should check that both the company name and the website address appear in it. Licensed sites also display the agency's logo and their licence number. The agency publishes a blacklist of unlicensed websites, which internet providers must block, and banks and payment institutions must refuse payments to them. Players must be at least 18, and operators must check a national register of excluded persons before letting someone play. Licensed operators must also offer deposit limits. Complaints should go to the operator first and can then be escalated to the agency. Proposals to restrict advertising further and raise the minimum age were not law at the time of checking.

| How to check a licence | Check that the operator's name and website URL appear in the NRA's public register of licensed online gambling sites, and look for the NRA logo and licence number in the site footer. The NRA also keeps a list of blocked unlicensed sites. |
