NLGRB licensed casinos
What the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (Uganda) licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.
Short answer
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board is the authority that licenses, regulates and supervises lotteries, gaming and betting in Uganda. It was set up under the Lotteries and Gaming Act of 2016 with the aim of creating a fair and transparent market and protecting Ugandans from the harms of gambling.
About the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (Uganda)
Its casino operating licence covers both physical venues and virtual or online platforms that offer games approved by the Board. The Board publishes a list of licensed companies and runs online portals for licensing and for registering gaming machines. Uganda has one of the highest gambling ages in the world: according to available sources, players must be at least 25, and licensed operators must verify age with valid identification. The government blocks unlicensed sites, and players using them have no legal recourse. The Board provides a self-exclusion form through which a person can bar themselves from all gaming and betting. Players can also file a complaint against a licensed operator directly with the Board using its online form.
