What is bonus expiry?

Definition
Bonus expiry is the deadline for claiming, using or completing wagering on a bonus; unfinished bonuses and their winnings are removed afterwards.
Every bonus has time limits, and there may be several. An offer may need to be claimed within days of registration, free spins may have to be used within 24 hours, and wagering may need to be completed within, for example, 7 or 30 days. When the deadline passes, the remaining bonus balance and any winnings generated with it are typically forfeited, while real-money funds stay in the account if the bonus was non-sticky. Short deadlines combined with high wagering create pressure to play more and faster than you otherwise would, which is a recognised risk factor for harmful play. Before accepting an offer, translate the deadline into required turnover per day. If that number does not match how you normally play, decline the bonus; there is no obligation to take one, and playing with your own money alone usually leaves you free to withdraw at any time.
