Definition
Free spins are slot rounds funded by the casino at a fixed stake; winnings are often credited as bonus money subject to wagering.
Free spins are a promotion credited for one or a few named slots at a predetermined stake per spin, commonly the game's minimum. The nominal value is easy to calculate: number of spins multiplied by the spin value. What happens to the winnings determines the real value. Some offers pay winnings as cash; many credit them as bonus funds with a wagering requirement, a max cashout and a short expiry, sometimes only 24 hours. Promotional free spins should not be confused with the free spins feature inside a slot, which is a bonus round triggered by scatter symbols and played at your own stake, with winnings paid as normal. When evaluating an offer, check the stake per spin, the eligible game and its RTP, whether winnings are capped, whether wagering applies, and whether the spins must be claimed or used within a time window.
