What is reverse withdrawal?

Definition and example from our casino glossary.

Definition

A reverse withdrawal lets you cancel a pending payout and return the money to your playable balance.

Where reverse withdrawals are allowed, a pending withdrawal can be cancelled by the player, and the funds reappear in the casino balance. The feature is presented as a convenience, but it works against the player's own decision to stop: the money is visible and available again during the waiting period, which makes it easy to keep gambling. Long pending periods amplify the effect. For this reason, Great Britain's regulator has banned reverse withdrawals for all online operators it licenses, and the practice is widely regarded as a player-protection risk. If you play at a site that still offers the option, there are practical defences: ask support to process or lock the withdrawal so it cannot be cancelled, choose payment methods that pay out quickly, and set deposit limits so that any reversed money cannot be topped up again.
