Definition
A welcome package is a set of bonuses for new customers, often spread across several deposits with separate terms for each stage.
Welcome packages combine deposit matches and free spins across the first few deposits and are often advertised by their total headline value. That headline can mislead in two ways. First, each stage usually has its own minimum deposit, wagering requirement, max bet and expiry, so the full package is only available to players who deposit several times within a set period. Second, the sum of the bonus amounts says nothing about their realistic value once wagering is applied. To assess a package, list each stage separately: required deposit, bonus received, total wagering, contributing games and time limit. Then decide whether the whole sequence fits a budget you had already planned. It is entirely reasonable to claim only the first stage, or none at all, and many players find that playing without a bonus keeps withdrawals simpler.
