What the Curaçao Gaming Authority licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.
Short answer
The Curaçao Gaming Authority is the government regulator that licenses online gambling companies based in Curaçao. For many years, online casinos in Curaçao were licensed through a private system: four master licence holders issued sublicences to operators, with limited public oversight.
That model ended when the National Ordinance on Games of Chance, known as the LOK, entered into force on 24 December 2024. Since then the authority is the only body that can issue licences. It issues provisional licences first and, after review, licences of indefinite duration. Every licensee must register its player-facing domains and show a digital stamp. A green stamp means an active consumer licence, blue means a supplier licence, grey means suspended or withdrawn, and black means revoked. Operators must also follow a formal complaints policy. If an operator does not resolve a complaint, the player can take it free of charge to an independent dispute resolution provider certified by the authority. The authority itself does not decide individual disputes.

| How to check a licence | Search the operator in the CGA licence register (online gaming licences, certificates and an enforcement register), and click the digital stamp in the casino footer: green means an active B2C licence, blue an active B2B licence, grey suspended or withdrawn, black revoked. The CGA notes that its register overviews do not guarantee current validity, so treat the stamp and register together. |
| Complaints / ADR | Under the CGA Player Complaints Policy, players file with the operator within six months of the incident; the operator must resolve responsible-gambling complaints within five business days and other complaints within four weeks (extendable once by four weeks). If unresolved, the player can escalate to a CGA-certified independent ADR provider, free of charge to the player. The CGA states that it does not intervene in individual disputes. |
| Player protection | The National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK) introduced a single government licensing authority, mandatory registration of all player-facing domains, a player complaints policy, a responsible gambling policy and local substance rules (office in Curaçao and local key staff). Operators must report complaint volumes, outcomes and ADR referrals to the CGA twice a year. Enforcement and ADR are newer and less proven than in tier-1 markets. |
