What the Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA S.E.) licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.
Short answer
Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, known as LOTBA, is the state company that regulates gambling in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, including online casinos and sports betting. Argentina has no national online gambling law, so each province and the capital city license operators separately.
A licence from the city is valid only for players located in the city. Operators therefore block accounts registered in neighbouring Buenos Aires Province, and the same brand may run separate versions with different balances. LOTBA licensed a group of online operators and later closed registration for new licences, so the market is currently closed to new entrants. Licensed sites for the city show the LOTBA logo and use a .bet.ar domain. LOTBA also publishes the list of authorised operators on its official portal. Regulated operators must offer deposit limits, self-exclusion and clear warnings about the risks of gambling. National rules also require visible advertising warnings, and LOTBA runs a support line and an information site for players.
