Saint Kitts and Nevis has a federal gambling law and a separate online regime on Nevis. The Gaming (Control) Act, 2021 (No. 11 of 2021), now cited as the Gaming Control Act, Cap. 17.01, repealed the old Betting and Gaming Act and made the Financial Services Regulatory Commission the Gaming Commission for the federation. Section 10 creates licence classes for casinos, internet gaming, racing, lotteries, sports betting and slot parlours, and an internet gaming licence allows the holder to offer gaming through a telecommunications network or the internet, with extra duties to protect players' identity and data. The Act sets a minimum age of 21, requires every licensee to keep a self-exclusion list and an exclusion list, and allows people domiciled in the federation to gamble if they meet the age requirement and are not excluded. A 2026 amendment added beneficial-ownership notification and stricter fit-and-proper checks.
Nevis took its own route for international online gaming. The Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance took effect on 1 May 2025 and set up the Nevis Online Gaming Authority (NOGA) to license and supervise online operators. The Nevis Island Administration has said that persons residing in St Kitts and Nevis will not be permitted to take part in gaming under this regime, so a Nevis licence is aimed at foreign customers only.
Online casino play is legal for residents aged 21 and over with operators holding a federal internet gaming licence from the FSRC; Nevis NOGA licensees may not accept residents of St Kitts and Nevis.
Check whether a site's licence comes from the St Kitts FSRC or from Nevis, because Nevis licensees may not accept residents of the federation. Licensees under the federal Act must keep a self-exclusion list, so ask the operator to add you if you need a break.
