BGC licensed casinos

What the Belgian Gaming Commission (Kansspelcommissie / Commission des jeux de hasard) licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.

Tier 1

Short answer

The Belgian Gaming Commission licenses and supervises gambling in Belgium, both in physical venues and online. Belgium uses a closed model for online casinos.

About the Belgian Gaming Commission (Kansspelcommissie / Commission des jeux de hasard)

Only companies that hold one of the nine licences for a land-based casino can obtain the additional A+ licence needed to offer casino games on the internet. All nine land-based licences have already been granted. The Commission publishes tables of active licences, so players can check whether a casino website holds an A+ licence. Belgium has some of the strictest player protection rules in Europe. People under 21 may not gamble. A standard weekly deposit limit of 200 euros applies per website and can be raised only under strict conditions. Gambling advertising is generally banned unless it is expressly permitted. Licensed operators must offer a free complaints procedure on their website, and the Commission must be able to see the complaints players submit. The government has announced plans to modernise the gambling law and restructure the Commission.
