DGA licensed casinos

What the Spillemyndigheden (Danish Gambling Authority) licence means for players, how to check it in the official register, and every casino in our database that holds it.

Tier 1

Short answer

Spillemyndigheden is the Danish Gambling Authority. It licenses and supervises gambling in Denmark, including online casinos and betting, and it publishes an overview of the operators that hold a Danish licence.

About the Spillemyndigheden (Danish Gambling Authority)

Denmark runs a national self-exclusion register called ROFUS. A player who registers is excluded from all licensed gambling providers. The authority also points players to StopSpillet for help with gambling problems. Complaints follow the general Danish consumer system rather than a gambling-specific ombudsman. A player first complains to the operator, which must explain when a decision will come if the case is not settled within fourteen days. Next comes a mediation team for consumer complaints, which helps both sides find a solution. If mediation fails, the Consumer Complaints Board can make a legal decision, and the courts remain available. Spillemyndigheden says it cannot settle individual disputes, but it wants to hear about problems and may ask operators to change their practices. Complaints about gambling advertising go to the Consumer Ombudsman.

Complaints / ADRComplain to the operator first (it must say when to expect a decision if not resolved within 14 days). Next, Mæglingsteamet for Forbrugerklager (consumer complaints mediation team), then Forbrugerklagenævnet (Consumer Complaints Board), which makes a legal decision, or the courts. Spillemyndigheden is not a complaints body but wants to hear about problems (https://spillemyndigheden.dk/borgere-og-spillere/saadan-klager-du).
Player protectionDenmark has a national self-exclusion register, ROFUS (rofus.nu), and the StopSpillet help service. Advertising complaints go to the Consumer Ombudsman (Forbrugerombudsmanden). Disputes are decided by the general consumer complaints system.
